I love Matina Amanita !

Past season of Matina Amanita for Sretsis. Its a porcelain cameo of a tubby cat sticking its tongue out !  Was 5,100 Bht but sold for 2,040 Bht (or SGD88!).

My tip: Go to Gaysorn Plaza. Its the ION of Bangkok but a lot of the designers have more stocks (from past seasons) on sale there !


This season, her collection is called "Mathilda and her Gypsy Prince." Here are some pictures from that.

I love Disaya !

My introduction to Thai brands began at Number Fifty with Soda. Then there was Sretsis at Lula Rock. Now, I am a sworn Disaya convert ! I was recently in Bangkok for a short hols with the kids and came across the most beautiful dresses and jewelry from Disaya..and yes, blew my entire shopping budget in one shop....sigh..

I'm an old fashioned girl who like Soon Kueh and Teh C for my breakfast ;)...Hiding in an old fashioned cafe waiting to see my Chinese TCM doctor on a beautiful bright sunny morning or as my son was recently taught to describe a sunny morning for his Chinese composition exam; "早上, 太阳公公出来了。乌儿在树上唱歌, 花儿在风中点头，好像在向我们问好."

Valentino & Lace

SS2012 is my favourite season ! Lace, embroidery and green ! No one can do lace as well as Valentino this season ! I would wear my lace dresses with my "Because of You" earrings.

DIY Easter crafts 2 - How to make an Easter Bonnet !

Anna's Easter Bonnet !

Yes its STILL school holidays and I had to entertain her ;)...so I thought we'd make an Easter Bonnet together! Something I used to do in school but the kids don't do anymore :(...


1) Off we went to Daiso and Spotlight (30% sale today!) to collect our necessities ! Yes, the straw hat is SGD2 from Daiso. So we picked up some plastic flowers, felt pieces, eggs, chicks and all things "Easter-y"..

2) Sew a piece of felt around the hat for you to glue your decorations on. Not much sewing needed. Just 2 stitches (one in front and one at back) to hold the felt down.

3) Start sticking your flowers on ! Remember two things about this construction ! One - its for a little girl so the hat should NOT be too heavy ! Two - You would see more of the front of the hat so concentrate more volume at the front.

4) Use a "layering" technique. Let the first layer dry before you put on the second layer etc. I let each layer take 3-5 mins to set.

5) VOILA ! Wasnt that fast ? Took me a total of 20 mins :)

And you have a happy camper who will play dress up for several hours ! PS. Best to let the hat dry overnight to ensure the glue sets HARD before releasing it to the tiny tot !

DIY Easter crafts

So its the school holidays and Anna's stuck at home (no school holiday camp because of a mini-HFMD outbreak in her class..)...sigh....To keep her occupied, we visited Daiso and collected tons of wool balls, felt pieces, pipe cleaners, paper flowers and made our Easter Basket !

Painting easter eggs the old fashioned way and making pom pom animals from scratch ! How to give your child a new toy everyday without it being too expensive ! ...And keeps them busy for hours making it too ! hahaha!
